“The Gordonvale State High School’s ‘School of Excellence in Indigenous Youth Art (SEIYA)’ is going to encourage Indigenous student artists to take on art as a career. It is a place of  learning, where they can have their own space, a place of inspiration, get ideas about art as a profession and where they can show their art to the world. “

Located in North Queensland, Australia, SEIYA is spearheaded by 6 Students from Year 8 & 9. A launch is planned for 19th September 2012. It will be a showcase event exhibiting artworks from current and past students of the school
